Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process of Jurnal Inovasi dan Karya Teknologi Informasi (JIKTEKS), including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher (ICEKA Publisher). This policy is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.


A. Publication and Authorship / Publikasi dan Kepengarangan

  1. All submitted manuscripts undergo a strict peer-review process by at least two experts in the relevant field.

  2. The review is conducted using a blind peer review system.

  3. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language quality.

  4. Possible editorial decisions include: acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.

  5. Revision requests do not guarantee acceptance upon resubmission.

  6. Rejected manuscripts will not be re-reviewed.

  7. Acceptance must comply with legal requirements, including libel, copyright, and plagiarism regulations.

  8. Research published in JIKTEKS must not be submitted or published elsewhere simultaneously.


B. Authors’ Responsibilities / Tanggung Jawab Penulis

  1. Authors must certify that their manuscripts are original and not published elsewhere.

  2. Manuscripts must not be under consideration by another publication.

  3. Authors must participate in the peer-review process and provide corrections or retractions when necessary.

  4. All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research.

  5. Authors must ensure that all data presented are authentic and accurate.

  6. Conflicts of interest must be declared to the editors.

  7. Authors must properly cite all sources used in preparing the manuscript.

  8. Authors must report any significant errors in their published work to the editors immediately.


C. Reviewers’ Responsibilities / Tanggung Jawab Reviewer

  1. Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

  2. Reviews should be objective, avoiding personal criticism of the author.

  3. Comments should be clear, supported by arguments.

  4. Reviewers should identify any relevant published work not cited by the authors.

  5. Reviewers must notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript and other known works.

  6. Reviewers must not review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist due to relationships with authors, institutions, or organizations.


D. Editors’ Responsibilities / Tanggung Jawab Editor

  1. Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.

  2. Editors are accountable for the content and overall quality of the publication.

  3. Editors should act in the interests of both authors and readers.

  4. Editors must ensure the integrity of the academic record and publish corrections or retractions when necessary.

  5. Editors must be transparent regarding funding sources for research.

  6. Editorial decisions must be based solely on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  7. Editors must maintain reviewer anonymity.

  8. Editors must act if they suspect misconduct, even for unpublished manuscripts, and investigate using evidence.

  9. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest among staff, authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.
